Q: am considering replacement of kitchen doors & drawer fronts but have little knowledge of DIY. I understand that the new doors will have hinge holes fitted for that part of the hinge but am unsure how the other part of the hinge gets fitted to the carcass to ensure that the door lines up correctly. Is this information/guidance usuallt supplied with the replacement doors or is it so easy that this is not necessary !! Ian

If you're lucky it's as simple as unscrewing 2 screws on the carcass or 2 on the door, and doing the reverse to fix the new doors. If you're unlucky, the new doors will have different screw hole positions from your carcasses (this has happened to me a few times), and you'll need to drill new holes in your carcasses. Either way it's not as massive problem, you'll just need to find the right size of drillbit for the screws being used.
